Security in Operating Systems
It is the quality of insurance, and insurance is something free and exempt from all danger, damage or risk. So it can be said that computer security is a computer system free of danger.
However, it must be taken into account that security is not a product but a process, therefore, computer security can be defined as:
a set of methods and tools designed to protect information and therefore computer systems against any threat, a process in which people also participate .
Day after day, international computer security lists publish again and again the most representative failures of applications and their proofs of concept, reiterating that insecurity is a permanent companion for those responsible for computer security in organizations. In Consequently, total or 100% security is not possible, since there is no element that is not exposed to uncontrolled or unexpected situations, which alter its operation, either positively or negatively.
Some basic definitions that should be taken into account when talking about computer security are detailed below.
